Vacation Plans

The Real Estate business is going ok.   June was a pretty slow month but July has proved to be more fruitful.  Overall, I'm doing better than some, and worse than others.  I'd say, for my first year, I did pretty good.

Mark and I are taking our summer vacation in August.  We're leaving Aug 14th for an Alaskan cruise.  We'll fly up to Seattle and spend a day there before we set sail.  We'll be cruising for 7 nights.  We'll spend another day in Seattle when we return and then we fly home.

We haven't chosen any of our tours for the cruise.  The only thing I really want to do is go whale watching. The rest of the time i'll be content to lay around and look at the scenery and read.  It's been pretty hectic having two jobs for the past year, and even though I don't show it alot, I do get pretty stressed. (if only people would do what they say they are going to do, my life would be so much easier!)

Other than that, not much has been happening at the Ingram-Boarnet household.  I like the status quo.  No drama!  Ok, there was a tiny bit of drama.   I bought a new high-def camcorder for our cruise (without asking Mark first) and he threw a fit.  Luckily for me, it was a short fit.  He obviously still doesn't understand my desire for new gadgets.  He's happy with a library book and a quiet living room.  I need electronics to keep me pacified.  =)

I'll check in later.

A Rainy Day 1

I am making up for lost time by putting up a few posts in one day.

The salon I work at took a "work trip" to Las Vegas in June.  The actual purpose for the trip was the International Beauty Show and Expo at the Las Vegas Hilton.  Many of the girls has never been to Las Vegas before so it was interesting showing them the sights.  One of our lovely employees turned into a virtual prostitute while on our three day trip, but that's a tawdry tale I will tell another time.

There are some pictures in the next post.

A Rainy Day!

Handy Man

Mark and I have lived in this house for a few years now and we thought it was about time we decided on some fixer-upper projects.

Our kitchen has been lit by one single solitary 75 watt light bulb the entire time we've lived here.  There was some under cabinet lighting, but only one worked.  Yesterday that all changed.  We now have 5 light fixtures PLUS I installed all new under cabinet lighting.    The down side to this is now we can see how dingy and pitiful our kitchen is, and we are depressed about it's ugliness.  So, now we're thinking about remodeling.  Limited remodeling.  We're considering taking out the wall that separates the kitchen from the living room and replacing it with a breakfast bar, and putting in new counter tops, probably Silestone but possibly just formica.  However, this would mean moving the dish washer to a new place, which in turn means re-routing some plumbing.... to me this sounds expensive, so we'll see if we actually do any of it.

Mark has become an HGTV addict.  Last night before going to sleep he told me that he feels he needs to stop watching all the house shows because he's getting too many ideas that we can't afford.  We'll see how that goes.

Memorial Day Weekend - Late

I know it's take me a week to get to this, but...

My little brother Darren and his wife Nicole came for a Birthday - Anniversary - Memorial Day weekend visit.  It's always nice to have family in town.  Mark and I don't normally do much socializing, so it was a welcome change to get out of the house.

I have included some pictures from a trip to the pool.
