Mark and I had a wonderful trip to California with my family. We went because our nephew Harrison was having his Bar Mitzvah. We stayed in Irvine, south of LA, and all the activities were really close by so it was really convenient with little driving in LA traffic.
We stayed a few extra days and went down to San Diego to visit the Wild Animal Park. We took our nephews and niece. As far as I can remember, it was the first time we've taken them out on our own. It's nice that they are finally at an age where we can do stuff together.
All the pictures from the San Diego Wild Animal Park are available on our Photo Gallery. I haven't yet sorted through all other pictures of the weekend, but I will try to get around to that ASAP. When you visit the Photo Gallery, If you see one that you want to keep you can easily download any picture. I'm also going to make a Sharing folder, so if you have some photos you think everyone else would like to see, you can upload them and share them with everyone else.
You can find a link to the Photo Gallery on the right hand side of this page.
That's all for now. Have a great weekend.

Harrison's Bar Mitzvah Weekend
We made it to Los Angeles today. Our flight was on time and uneventful. We had lunch at The LA Farmers Market and then headed down to Irvine to meet up with the family. We had a very informal Seder at the hotel. About 50 family members showed up. It was nice to see everyone. No pictures yet but I'll have some to share, soon.

Yay.. a new post
I haven't posted in a while since there hasn't really been anything exciting to report. However, I do have a new picture website to share with you. I will be adding photos to it from time to time, and I have an album labeled "General Album" which YOU can upload pictures into (if you want to). Right now the General Album has some photos of me and Mark in Seattle.
The website is part of the MobileMe package I get from Apple and I havn't really taken advantage of all the nifty things they provide for me, so now I am.

The Real Estate market is picking up in SA. Either that or I'm just working harder (or both). I have a few new listings and I have one that's going under contract in the next few days. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Daddy needs a new pair of shoes.
We're getting excited about our trip to California for the Bar Mitzvah. We're going to spend a few extra days in LA. Mark wants to see the La Brea tar pits and we're going back to the Farmers Market again. I think we're still also going down to San Diego to the wildlife park.
More later.

Sculpture Exhibit
Saturday we went to the George Rickey Kinetic Sculpture exhibit at the McNay Museum. Whenever I go to a sculpture exhibit I'm reminded how much I love sculpture. I've been to museums all over the world and I still think most paintings are boring but I love sculpture. All types.
This artist has some really wonderful pieces. I was only allowed to photograph the big ones outside. The ones inside were smaller and much more intricate. All his sculptures are moving pieces. They are definitely an exercise in weight and balance. I took some short videos to show you.

Shreveport
Today we drove to Shreveport. Yesterday, when the idea was proposed, it seemed like a really nice idea. Betty assured us it only a 45 minute drive and that the area we were going to visit was "sort of like the Riverwalk in San Antonio".
I'll begin by saying that it was an hour and a half drive. We had to drive through three states to get there; Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana, and it as NOTHING like the riverwalk in San Antonio. Essentially it was a mall sitting by a river. It wasn't all bad. We did get to spend some time with little James and Reid. I have no idea when we'll get to see him again, so it was worth it.
We had lunch at The Cheesecake Bistro. Due to the decor and the menu, I think it's related to The Cheesecake Factory, but the service was terrible and the french fries were cold and soggy. The Thai Chicken Wrap was really tasty though.
Various Observations from today's drive:
1. I never want to live in rural Arkansas.
2. I never want to live in rural northeast Louisiana.
3. The man who is charged with picking up roadkill in Louisiana has either died or was given an extended vacation. There was a dead animal every 150 feet or so.... for miles.
Tomorrow we head home. Yipeeeee. We miss the dogs.
