I've decided to make a career change. I am currently taking classes to become a Realtor.
I could tell you all the typical hairstylist excuses about why a change is necessary... creaky knees, the slow onset of carpel-tunnel, the aching feet..... but in reality, it's just as simple as this: I'm ready for a change.
I started to get my license YEARS ago but i backed out because I thought I was too young. Ever since then I've thought about it about once a year.. sometimes more often.
Why now?? WHY NOT? For years and years I've wondered what I would be when I grew up and I think I've decided. The real estate market is really good in SA right now. It has been for a while and there's no real reason to think things will change anytime soon. There is alot of economic development going on in SA right now.
I'm taking the online course provided by the San Antonio Board Of Realtors. That way I can still work while I'm in school. If all goes well, I should be ready for my state test in a couple of months or less. I've already been offered to be sponsored by a broker who is a client of mine, but I'm not sure yet if I'll go with her. I have some time to think about it so I'm not in any rush.
Mark has some big news about his career also, but I will let him post his own blog either tonight or in a few days.

wow - lots of changes. That sounds exciting and we wish you the best as you start this new endeavor. I'm sure you'll be very successful. You have the personality for it. Do mom and dad think it's a good idea?
I'll be anxious to hear Mark's news!
As you know, we opted NOT to take the plunge for big change here -- so we're plugging along with the status quo. But I'm trying to get some additional business stuff going, so maybe that's sort of a change.
We're happy and relieved that we decided to stay in Irvine.
