Visiting Dogs

We are baby sitting Darren's dogs for 2 weeks and it's not going as smoothly as I was hoping. Sally is doing great with the exception of some barking and alot of puppy-like behavior like persistent jumping, but Dakota is not too fond of my dogs. I don't think she would ever bite them but she likes to chase them around and bark at them. She especially isn't fond of little Jake. He has spent alot of time hiding behind the furniture when Dakota is out. Luckily we have a gated area where they spend some time and they sleep in there too.

As a whole, they are doing ok, but this experiment has shown us that our house is WAY too small for 5 dogs.

And it seemed like it was going so well in the beginning. Poor Jake. I guess that means you can't take them if/when they move out of the country?! Wasn't this supposed to be a trial run for that?

IF we move to Illinois (and that's a very big if right now), Midnight will be coming with us, of course! :)

yeah this was the test run for their move out of the country. But our thought is there are thousands of other homes that would be happy to take Sally and Dakota. I think they might do best as only dogs since they are familiar with each other.

Makes sense. And 5 dogs really would be a LOT of dogs!

I am so sorry to hear they are making your lives more difficult. I hope you know we appreciate it.
