Oscar Night

This weekend the weather was beautiful. Today Mark and I were out in the backyard for a while just hanging out with the dogs. Now we're sitting down to watch the Academy Awards and the dogs are very excited and anxious about who will win for best actor, actress and best picture. Jake is especially excited as you can see from the pictures below

Doggy Snack Time - Feb 19th 2007

Hi Everyone. Not much has been happening around here except being sick. Mark's cold has finally gone away. Mine started last Wednesday with a soar throat which then escalated into couching and sneezing. Then I felt better on Saturday so I went back to work. Then Sunday I felt all achey and stuff again. Monday I felt REALLY bad again so I'm going to the doctor this morning to make sure im not getting an upper respiratory infection or something. I was running a low grade fever yesterday so I just would rather be safe than sorry.

Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day (sorry about it being a day late)

We had an uneventful Valentines Day at the house. Mark is getting over a cold, while mine is just getting started. I took the day off work because I have a sore throat and a cough.

I have photographic proof that some men in Texas are completely insane. If the old saying is true that men with large trucks are compensating for "shortcomings" elsewhere, then the guy who owns this truck probably gets laughed at by LOTS of women when he's naked.

San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo

We went to the rodeo again last night. Mark went with his sister to see Gretchen Wilson last week. We went together last Monday to see Brooks and Dunn. We saw Willie Nelson last night and we are going to see Lee Ann Womack this coming friday. I am going to post a few pictures from last night and below are some video clips also.

Kinky Friedman was there. He was actually sitting very close to us. We were on the edge of our section and he was sitting down on the floor in the truck loading area. I'm not sure why I took this video of him, but i did.

Update on selling the house

After meeting with mom and dad today, we are going to put off selling the house for a little while. We found out today that if we don't own the house for 2 years or more we will have to pay capital gains tax on the profit from the house, which according to mom could be alot. We've only owned this house for 18 months and she said we could make alot off it since the property values here are going crazy. SO, we can't actually sell the house until September. We will probably put it on the market sometime in June and see what happens.

Actually, that gives us some more time to make some minor improvements to make sure the house gives a great first impression.

I'll try to put a more in depth update tomorrow.

Super Bowl Sunday

Mark and I have decided to sell our house. We love the neighborhood and the neighbors themselves, but we have decided we need a house that's more affordable plus we'd like one with more room for us to spread out. We live in one of the most highly valued neighborhoods in San Antonio because of the excellent schools (which is nice except we have no children) but the taxes are killing us and we have a tiny tiny house.

Hopefully the house will sell profitably and quickly so we can get moved before summer.

Ok, they just tossed the coin and the Bears have elected to receive. I need to get going.

Thanks to everyone for all your birthday greetings.

On Wednesday I had my 38th birthday. Me, Mark, Mom, Dad, Meme, Jack, Jody and Betty all went to dinner at the restaurant at the Bass Pro Shop. As redneck as that sounds, they actually have really good seafood. For those of you who haven't been to the Bass Pro Shop you really should take a trip. It's quite a sight. Even Meme was impressed.

I'm working on a way to add video clips to my blog. I'll let you know if I can figure it out.
