Foster Parenting (no, it's not what you think)

Yesterday I got a call from the San Antonio Pug Rescue and they were in desperate need of some foster families due to a big batch of puppies that was surrendered.  Being the kind hearted, selfless person that I am, I rushed over and picked up this sweet adult female that was a "breeder".   She's very sweet, but somewhat hesitant about letting strangers touch her until she gets to know them.  She learned how to use the dog door in about 30 minutes, but that hasn't stopped her from peeing on the bath matt.  Ah, the trials of parenthood!

She didn't have a name, so we named her Abigail.  Her tongue hangs out most of the time, so we figured with such a pitiful face, the least we can do is give her a dignified name.

She's really sad because when she sees you petting another dog, she's really curious about what you're doing and comes up to watch, but then if you try to pet her, she runs away scared.  It's obvious to me that she hasn't been properly socialized, but hopefully she'll come around pretty quickly.  She did sit on my lap for about ah hour last night, so that's something.

I also included a pictures of the big lizard that lives inside a tree in our backyard.  I'm not exactly sure why I included it, but I did.
